Biography

Born in 1961, Sorin Toma discovered Romania’s mountains beauty when he was 19 years old and so became passionate to make mountain trips.

Since then he felt the need to capture the beauty he discovered and began to take photos; the photo camera became “his best friend”.

Before 1989 he joined the Romanian Photographic Artists Association and started to promote the image of Romania through “diason” shows organized in different cultural centers of Bucharest.

1989 was followed by a period of searches and discoveries; meanwhile, passionate by image, he kept on improving his technique and artistic ways thus in 2001 he won the National Photographic Contest organized by Mediafax – Chivas Regal, hobby section. This moment was decisive in changing his job and so he became a professional photograph, following his lifetime passion for image.

Since 2001, Sorin Toma’s portfolio has had an exponential grow, working with the most performant photo cameras and lens. He is still promoting the image of Romania, being co-author on several photo albums and author of such photo albums like: “Surrounding Romania” and “Bucharest, my love!” sponsored by Veolia Group, “Tradition & Perspectives” sponsored by Holcim Romania. On clients’ requests he takes part in shows, mega-shows and different events organized by them. On demand, he creates “corporate” and advertising photos.

His clients are large and well-known companies, advertising agencies and banks, such as: Holcim Romania, Petrom Gas, Romcar, Unicredit Tiriac Bank, Aviva, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Nuclear Electrica Company, Momentum, Publicis, Stage Expert.
